The Wampee tree is a strongly-scented evergreen from Southeast Asia. It is very popular in China, where the name originates “Huang Pi”
While the tree stays at a medium size, it can be very productive when mature.
The fruit is quite unique in flavor. It has a strong aroma, with a flavor of pleasant surprise, including notes of grape, mango, and citrus, combined with a spicy flavor often associated with Indian mango varieties.
