“Tricia” Dragon Fruit

Description

Tricia possesses Hylocereus Ocamponis genetics (along with Hylocereus Undantus), giving it a striking grayish green color, and powder-like coating to protect it from weather extremes. 

Tricia is a very unique variety bred by Edgar Valdivia, a dragon fruit pioneer responsible for the Asunta collection and others. It has mothered the next generations of Asunta, such as the Asunta 5.

The flower and fruit have many, symmetrically-appealing fins with gorgeous red tips. The flesh is a deep red and very sweet, with a clean aftertaste that leaves you smiling. The fruit can reach close to 20 on the brix meter, and can exceed 1 pound in size.

Tricia is a very cold-tolerant variety, however, it is self sterile and requires cross pollination.
