“Purple Haze” Dragon Fruit

Description

Purple Haze is a hybrid variety from Paul Thompson’s famous dragon fruit breeding program. It was originally referred to as 5-S but later renamed to Purple Haze, due to the superior dark purple flesh and ‘haze’ of white.

This variety produces 3 or more crops of fruits per year, each averaging between 1 and 2 pounds. 

The flavor is top tier, like most guatemalensis varieties. The brix can reach 20, combining grape flavors with that perfect tangy quality, making you want more and more.

This is a self-sterile variety, and thus requires pollen from a variety like Sugar Dragon, Neon, or Voodoo Child.
