GalaPlants sprouted from my passion for unique fruits—the kinds you simply can’t find in grocery stores. I went down the rabbit hole of rare, exotic fruits.

Most of these unique fruits are virtually unknown in the United States, not because they don’t taste good, but because they don’t ship well. Fruits like Sapotes and Jaboticabas taste amazing but don’t last once picked from the tree.

This is a problem for commercial-scale producers, who need a fruit to last weeks, sometimes months from tree to store. However, for home gardeners, freshness is the name of the game.
